RIVER OAKS OFFICE BUILDING

An existing, brutalist, concrete Federal Credit Union was repurposed into the new River Oaks Office Building. The original structure was designed to resist truck blasts and housed a high security vault system. The original Architect had used clerestory lighting to bring natural light into the structure above the rigid concrete construction.

Original concrete wall panels were cut free and removed. A new addition to the building was created, clad in Texas limestone. Large windows were added where possible. The interior received flooring upgraded, new millwork, cabinetry and lighting. Two cubes, clad in zinc identify the offices of the executive partners.
